An bhfuil eolas ag duine ar bith faoi leabhair a mbéidh ina gcuidigh liom? Tá mé ag iarraidh ainmeacha agus sloinní a aistriú ó bearla go gaeilge.

I'm trying to translate names and surnames from English into Irish - anyone know of any useful sources of information for this?

Foilsitheoir: Coiscéim

Rose,
I think Coiscéim has a new address but I can't put my finger on it at the moment. I'm sure any correspondence will be forwarded to them.

The Surnames of Ireland by Edward MacLysaght (Irish Academic Press) is the best book available and the most reliable for the Irish version of Anglicised surnames. He also lists in what areas each surname is most common.
