Hi,
I'd like to know how to pronounce "oi":

In poist I know it's originally post, so I pronounce it poisht

BUT in foighne - Do I pronounce it feinye, foinye or fainye?

Thus oi = ???

Thank you

Using "English" spelling, I pronounce:

post = pust (as in "dust")
poist = pwisht ( as in "He wished" )

"foighne" is a bit odd. The "gh" is in there to indicate that there's a diphthong. I pronounce it as:

f-eye-nih ( "nih" as in "ninja" )

Similary, I pronounce "staighre" as:

st-eye-ra
