Hi I really want to get fluent at Irish and at the moment I have Leaving Cert standard-but not a good standard! I would love to get a job over next summer working in a Gaeltacht area so I can improve on my spoken and comprehension skills. Does anyone know how I'd go about finding out about this or if employers would be interested..?? Is there a website advertising these jobs or an online newspaper or anything? Thanks guys |

Around where I live, we might just go to the employment office and use their computers - after setting up an account. (They're free.) Next, I'd type in the area where you wish to work and maybe some wages, that is, how much you'd like to be paid, and it'll show you all of the jobs in the job bank available under those perameters. You can even send your resumé. And if someone is interested in you, they'll contact the job center ant they, in turn will call you and let you know of the job opening and you decide whether or not you want to apply for the job. But, then still, that how it is where I live. I don't know about your area. |

Thanks Maidhc I live in Meath so I'd have to see if their computers would give me jobs from Galway etc. Obviously there is the Gaeltacht bit of Meath but it's weeny and I don't think I'd have much joy finding work there cuz it's all pretty much just houses. I'll try the computer idea anyway Thanks again |
