I have a 2000 word essay for History due next month. The subject I've picked is the "Effects of the Great Famine on the Irish Language." However, I'm not really sure how to find sources for this. Many books that discuss the famine never even mention that Ireland had its own language. I can seem to find any books about history of the language at all. What books should I look for(That the US Public Library system would be likely to have)? |

Brian Ó Cuív's "A View of the Irish Language" has some essays on that topic. |

A chairde, The topic is also discussed in James S Donnelly Jnr, "The Great Irish Potato Famine", Stroud, Sutton, 2001. (ISBN 0-7509-2928-6) Slán beo! Chris |

I located the last mentioned title in the online catalog for the local university. Neither a present in the state-wide catalog of public libraries. Any other suggested titles? |
