"Bhí beo a anama ionann is rodta ag giúrainn an anamhantair." Cad is brí do "anamhantair"?

Níl fhios agam 'anamhantair', ach tá 'beo' agus 'anama' difriúil. Is 'beo' LIVING, nó LIVING BEING, agus is 'anam/anama' SOUL nó SOUL agat. Tá athas orm cuidigh seo.

Nílim cinnte, ach fuaireas seo san bhFoclóir Beag

amhantar [ainmfhocal firinscneach den chéad díochlaonadh]
fiontar, seans, rud a fhaightear de sheans.

An mbeadh ciall sa chomhthéacs le anamhantar
i.e. fiontair nó seans mhór?

Sílim go bhfuil an ceart agat, a Aonghuis. Bíonn tú chomh cúntach sin i gcónaí!

Dála an scéil; do léigh mé an giota sin thar an deireadh seachtaine. Creidim go mbeadh "misfortune" níos cruinne

"The life of his soul was almost rotted by the barnacles of misfortune"

Tá dhá ciall leis an réimír "an-": mór, nó olc. Tá níos mó ciall ag baint le "olc" sa chás seo, toisc gurbh breoiteacht atá i gceist.
