Can "siúd" be used as a pronoun? There's a song, "The Limerick Rake" in which the chorus goes: ..agus fágfaimid siúd mar atá sé! which is supposed to mean: ..and we'll leave that as it is! So, if that's the case can I say: Siúd nach maraíonn mé, neartaíonn sé mé. That which doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Any help would be mucho appreciated. |

1) Yes. But it refers to something concrete which has been mentioned previously. 2) No. There is no clue as to what siúd you mean! An ní nach maraíonn mé, neartaíonn sé mé. |
