Someone on another site posted a translation request. As a kind of excercise I tried to translate it for my own benefit. Below is the request and my attempt at the translation. Before ripping it apart remember I have only been at this for a month now , this is the result of the help I get from here TYI and Colins dictionary.

dear pat.
i understand that you are sad, but cheer up. love finds you when you least expect it. until then just try to be happy with yourself. girls are more attracted to a guy who is sure of himself.

good luck.

A Phadraig ,
Cluinim go bhfuil tu brónach ach biodh misneach agat! Gheobhaidh grá thú arís eile. Go dti sin ,déanamh iarracht ar ag bheith séanmhar. Is nios mó tairrangteach fear sona ná fear stuacach.

Ádh mór ort!!

' when you least expect it ' was beyond me so I improvised. :)
Im sure it is not 100% grammatically correct but understandable to a speaker , no?
