"Mar a deireadh Beartla Michil i Seana Choille, ba 'reanglamán righin a bhí ann' a raibh an tochras bog agus an fíochán crua sin air a shlánaigh a chine go minic agus an dúchinniúint ag gabháil dá maidí orthu." Cad é an míniú a bhainfí as an abairt seo? (Dúchinniúint - black destiny, misfortune.)

Go raibh sé in am agam foclóir fairsing a fháil!

an dúchinniúint ag gabháil dá maidí orthu -> fate beating at them

Caithfead súil ar an Duinníneach, agus be'd thar nais Dé Luain

reanglamán [ainmfhocal firinscneach den chéad díochlaonadh]
duine fada caol a bheadh marbhánta ann féin.

To paraphrase: he had the character which had often saved his kind when black destiny was beating at them.

tochras is "winding", fíocháin is "weave"

But I think my paraphrasing is correct.
