I don't pretend to be an expert, but, I am guessing ""

I suggest you wait for the Gaeilge experts though.

Go n'Žir’ an t-‡dh leat. (Good Luck!)

Dion,

Your attempt at fadas is coming out really bizarre on my screen. You may need to use the cut and paste option at the bottom of the page.

Le meas,

James

(fadaless-I tried the cut and paste, same result)
Jenny is Bearla for Sineadin, or the other way around?
Is there something that tells you what names are as Gaeilge?

A Dion,

Jennifer is a foreign name which came into Irish in the form Sinéad (as did Jean, Janet, Jane). The diminutive of Sinéad is Sinéadín. If you add -ín to the end of any Irish name, it means a little version of the original. Jenny is a diminutive or a pet form of Jennifer, hence Sinéadín.

Sinéad (mór), A Chara:

Wouldn't that be Sinéad (mhór)? Lenition after a feminine noun? Or are names different?

Just curious.

Le meas,

James

A James, a chara,

Gan amhras tá an ceart agat - séimhítear an aidiacht tar éis ainmfhocal baininscneach, de réir mo leabhar gramadach. Ní thugaim mórán aird do chúrsaí ghramadach, de ghnáth. B'fhéidir nach maith an rud é.

le meas mór (mhór?)

Sinéad
