Fellow Daltaí,

Should you happen to be -- or would like to be -- in the Albany area this coming Saturday evening, November 1st, Ethel Brogan, our founder, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Northeast Region of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. We will be honoring Ethel for her work on behalf of the Irish language. The festivities will begin at around seven o'clock at the American Legion Hall at 16 West Poplar Drive, Delmar, NY 12054. All are welcome.

Stiobhaird, a chara, -- The Hall of Fame inductions are an annual event. The date was confirmed with the American Legion hall about six weeks ago. Ethel was nominated by the Sean O Riada Branch of Comhaltas in Albany. I don't know exactly when she was notified of the honor by the Chairperson of Sean O Riada. I have known for about a month that Ethel was a nominee. I didn't post anything to the Daltai site because I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag. However, in retrospect, I should have called Liam Guidry and asked him to spread the word as soon as I found out. -- Tom
