Great news everyone!

TG4 fans living outside Ireland will have the opportunity to sample some of the most popular of the channel's programmes from now on, thanks to its new WebTV service, launched this weekend on www.tg4.ie.
The new streaming service will provide TG4 fans anywhere in the world with a selection of its top programmes, including the acclaimed soap opera Ros na Rún, the new current affairs programme 7Lá, and the weekly news-round up programme Timpeall na Tíre. In total, two hours a week of the channel's programmes will be webcast on an ongoing basis.

This weekend's launch also includes live coverage of the much awaited All-Ireland Finals in the TG4 Ladies Football Championships from Croke Park on Sunday October 5. The action commences at 1pm with the Junior Final between Donegal and Kildare, followed by the Senior Final between Mayo and Dublin. Both of these will be webcast.

Announcing the TG4 WebTV servicice, Leascheannasaí Pádhraic Ó Ciardha, said it represented a welcome step forward in the channel's development. "Since coming on-air almost seven years ago, we have been inundated with requests from people all over the world who wish to have ongoing access to our programmes," he said. "This new service, available for a small monthly fee, is one element of our strategy to meet that demand. Technology is an ally for Irish language enthusiasts, be they in Dublin or Detroit and we are confident that our innovative and award-winning programmes will find favour wherever they are accessed," he concluded.

Dea-scéal ar fad. Mar a dúirt Yeats nuair a dúradh leis go raibh an duais Nobel buaite aige - "cé mhéad?".
