Hey, I am just starting to get into my Irish heritage. While I am doing that, I am also trying to learn the Irish language. I live in a small town in Wisconsin, so you can imagine there isn't much to go on. I was wondering if anyone has any recomendations on books? I have heard of Learning Irish by Michael Siadhail or something, and Teach Me! Irish. Also, does anyone know any sites with free information on irish families? Mine is Coyle, and so far all I have found was it is MacIlhoyle, Coyle, and Mac Giolla something. Thanks! |

Cody, There's an Irish language immersion weekend in Madison, Wisconsin, Oct 17-19. Here's a link: http://celticmadison.org/culture/ I've heard good things about this program. All the best, Paul |

Cody a chara, You may find this Wisconsin Conradh na Gaeilge link very worthwhile: http://members.busynet.net/0557/links.htm You might like to look in on the Minnesota people who are also very active near you: http://home.earthlink.net/~gaelminn/ Dream iontach daoine iad agus cainteoirí maithe Gaeilge ina measc. They are great people in both those states and they have very good speakers among their numbers. Good luck - Ádh mór. |
