I was wondering what percentage of Irish nouns were maculine and from that I think I can deduce the percentage which are feminine.

Anyone got any eolas?

Dia duit a Fhir an Áirimh,

As spléachadh ar sheanleagan Réidh-chúrsa, bheadh siad nach mór bord ar bord. After a glance through the older Réidh-chúrsa Gramadaí here it would seem to be level counting between masc. and fem. The latter, feminine, may get it by a hair, going on this rough count.

The Aidan Doyle/Edmund Gussmann dictionary of Irish noun endings ought to give you the answer. Níl sé agam faraor.

Slán go fóill.

Go raibh maith agat a Sheosaimh. Shíl mé nach raibh ach an corr fhocal baininscneach, níos lú ná 90% nó mar sin.

Caithfidh mé níos mo aird a thabhairt don gné seo den gramadach!
