Hi there:
I'm 23yo from Galiza (Spanish Kingdom, just above Portugal) and I'd like to learn gaelic, at least to learn a bit and see if I want to learn more
I was reading some messages related to learning, but you always talk about going to the library and pick a book with cassettes, going to universities, etc. I think that would be very difficult to get those books here, and in addition, I don't want to fall in boredom, because then I'll surely wouldn't want to know about gaelic anymore..
So I'd like pen-pals to told me about history of the language, dialects, a bit of socio-linguistic status, and of course, informal lessons
I can offer the same for galizan/portuguese and spanish too, I love the first and I speak also natively the second -- note the difference, I'll be much more happy teaching the first one ;) They're plain latin dialects talked by thousand million people, but..
So, any volunteer for the exchange?
(I'll try to come here to see if there're replies to this thread, but if you're interested, better write directly to my e-mail, too).
(Sorry if I post an off-topic).
Best regards,
