I have two questions that I have not been able to answer properly yet.

I know that Is cara dom means 'she is a friend of mine'...what is 'you are a friend of mine' or 'they are frieds of mine?' Would it be 'Is cara dom tu' and 'na cara dom siad' respectively?

Secondly, maybe it's just me, but I don't always notice an bhfuil being used? Are there any circumstances under which you would not ask a question using an bhfuil?

There are lot's of questions you can ask without using 'an bhfuil'- way too many to detail here.

I wish I had the time to give you some help with your Irish but I need to continue doing the dumb things I have to do until I catch hold of a leipreachán. :-)
