Hello, I posted the Donegal Irish a few days back... Anyway I have been searching the net crazy-like trying to find movies in Irish. According to some of the sites I went to there, is in fact a few movies made completely in the language but not very many, and I haven't found a place where I could buy them. Does anyone here have them or know where to get them? I know there is an Irish channel but I have never seen it. Do they do movies? I think if Ireland really wants to start reaching and spreading the language they should start spending real time and money into the film industry. Let's face it the movie industry is one of the most effective ways of reaching kids these days. I am not saying that they need to be making some Hollywood smash-hit or anything, just start simple and build from there. I mean if films could do half of the work that the theatre was doing for the language, the language would spread like wildfire. What do the people here say? Wouldn't it be nice to see movies done in the language and have some popular modern themes. Mark |

The channel is called TnaG, Teilifís na Gaeilge. It has a few good shows on it. Ros na Rún is pretty good. Manchan sa tSín was alright too. You definitely improve your gaeilge by watching it. -Phil |

But TG4 is not available over the internet, right? I've searched and searched the RTÉ website, but only find live streaming for Raidió na Gaeltachta. Bummer for anyone living in America. |

Someone once told me that there is an Irish news network here in the States...and that if you can receive broadband channels then you might be able to get Irish Television. I don't know if this is true or just a rumor but it would be nice. Mark |

Jen, You're right there's no connection available for TG4 - and they quit broadcasting the news in October last year! How can we have at least news bulletins like the welsh have from the BBC? (half an hour news and analysis). Thanks |
