A chairde, We truly enjoy providing an area where those who are learning Irish and those who are just discovering the beauty of the language can learn from more experienced speakers who tirelessly provide the benefit of their knowledge, as well as advice and encouragement. Since its inception this online community has been congenial, even in the face of lively and even sometimes contentious discussion. Of late some of the discussions have taken a turn toward crassness and vulgarity, which we find to be unfortunate given the common love of Gaeilge which we share. We are loathe to censor posts and, as many of you surely have noticed, have exercised that right extremely rarely. With little effort, criticism can be delivered tactfully and maturely, without the need to resort to epithets and vulgarity. As our entry page says: Táthar ag iarraidh ort go mbeadh do chuid teachtaireachtaí múinte agus bainteach leis an nGaeilge. We do request that you keep your postings polite and related to the Irish language. That held true when we created these boards and holds true today. Ní neart go cur le chéile. Unity is strength.
