Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona Duit would be my best offering. Lá Fhéile Pádraig simply means "Saint Patrick's Day." You need the Shona Duit to get "Happy" and "To You". I may have lenited Sona (giving you Shona) unecessarily. I'm not sure.

Le meas,

James

Dia dhuit;
I heard one way of saying it is:
"Beannacht Lá Fhéile Pádraig"

Beannacht meaning blessing as in a greeting.

Hi all,

I was informed by someone reliable on another site that it's "sona" without a "h".

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Duit

The reason being that "lá" is masculine, so the adjective "sona" is treated as masculine.

Fear maith
Bean mhaith

Slan and have a great day on the 17th,

Oliver.

Dia daoibh, a chairde,
I've noticed that on the home page it is spelled as "Lá Fhéille Pádraig Shona!" So, now I'm confused. Though I still agree that it should be "Sona" for the reason that Oliver described. No matter. Just have one!
Go mbeannaí Dia atá dhaoibh is sin go bhfuil dilís daoibh ar Lá Fhéile Pádraig breá seo!!
Slán,
Maidhc.

If the noun is masculine, the adjective has to be masculine.
If the noun is feminine, the adjective has to be feminine.

Lá sona.

Oíche shona.

A Phil,a chara,
Go raibh maith agat. I was able to find the answer to that later on at a site called "Gaeilge na Seachtaine". It was at http://eircom.net/~kuichinneide/index.html
It has a very nice set of tables for many grammarical rules. Who would've guessed that there are 7 things to know about adjectives?
Anyway, thanks again.
Slán,
Maidhc.

HMMMMM. Go figure. I tried going to that listing I just 2 seconds ago gave, and it won't work. Yet, when I go there out of my favorites, the address reads exactly as that and works like a charm. RATS.
Maidhc.
