When I was young I performed an Irish poem at a feis. My father spent many hours training me to speak it correctly. He has since died, and now I want to find that poem - I dream about it in my sleep.
It is a poem about Jean, a Frenchman I believe, who is looking out at the rough sea in wintertime, and thinking about life and death - as far as I remember his thinking symbolized death which is why I think I dream about it. The poem is dark, sorrowful yet beautiful. Is this enough for anyone to recognise it?
I know I would recognise it if I read it, I know it but it is deep in my subconscious. Any hints would be appreciated.
