If anyone could help with a Gaeilge translation (and pronunciation) for the word "Solidarity" (or a close approximation), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Two words are given in my dictionary. dlúthpháirtíocht and comhghuaillíocht Someone else will have to help you with the pronunciation. I can't get my mind and my tongue to work together on these! Le meas, James (eile) |

That's a couple of mouthfuls you've got there. /dlu:fa:r't'i:@xt /ko:ghu:@li:@xt I can't do a phonetic symbol for the groad "gh". A cruder version would be: DLOO-fahr-chee-ukht KOH-ghoo-uh-lee-ukht I think most people would pronounce them with a secondary stress on the second syllable. |
