My son would like to know the translation of his name into Irish.
His name is Blaine Hussey.
He was named after his Great-grandmother who came from Castlebar, Mayo to Canada in 1847.
His Hussey line came from Kerry (we have not found the town yet).
I obtained a translation for the name Hussey from a fellow whose last name was also Hussey and who lives in Dublin. He said "In Irish, Hussey is Mac Eodhasa (mack-oh-saa) masculine and Nic Eodhasa (nic-oh-saa) feminine". Is this correct ?
As for Blaine most baby name books I've looked at indicate that Blaine is an Irish name and means, small, thin, tiny.
Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.
