I am deeply saddened to be forwarding this information to everyone.

The body of John Patrick Tierney has been recovered and their will be a funeral mass in his memory this Saturday, February 9th, at 10:15 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Staten Island.

It has been a long and trying five months for Seán and Helen, and they would like to extend their tremendous appreciation to their Gaeilgeoir family for all the support they have continued to receive throughout this ordeal. They understand that the notice is short, and that many may be unable to attend.

Seán said that while on the one hand this puts a form of closure on their loss, it has proven to be much harder to bear for them all than they had imagined. If you can possibly attend the service, Seán, Helen and the entire Tierney family will be extremely grateful. In time of need we draw closer to each other.
