Dia dhuit,

I'm trying to translate a paragraph for an uncle pertaining to our family history. It is as follows:

Thug Déaglán na cheithre fichid púnt dona dheirfiúr féin, Caitlín Rua, agus thug sí thar n-ais é chun an tí as a dtáinig sé an chéad la riamh nuair a phós sí (1862) Peaid Ó Gríobhtha i gCnocán an Phaoraigh Íochtarach.

This is (pitifully) what I have so far:

Declan gave twenty four pounds himself to his poor sister, Kathleen Rua, and she gave back to him for....... he came to be the first ever.... when she married ? (is it a name and a place title? and what does Peaid translate to).

Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Go raibh maith agat,

Brenda

Declan gave the eighty pounds to his sister, Red haired Kathleen, and she brought it back to the house, from which it originally came, when she married (in 1862) Pat Ó Gríofa in Lower Power's Hill.

cheithre fichid = four twenties = eighty!
dona is not bad, it is "don" (to) "a" (his)
Íochtarach = Lower
Cnocán = a small hill (cnoc)
