My bride and I want to engrave on our wedding bands the following saying/prayer: May God hold our hearts together forever. It pays tribute to our Irish heritage, and by putting part on hers and part on mine, it symbolically holds us together. So if anyone can help, I would be most appreciative. Jim |

Gabh mo leithscéal a chairde / Excuse me for misposting the initial two words in the note above. Your prayer may be rendered as : Go gcumhdaí Dia ár gcroí in éindí go brách. Ádh mór. |

Go gcothaí Dia ár gcroí in éindí go brách. cothú = maintain. Okay? There's not much more that I can cut unless you make changes in the original : Go gcumhdaí Dia sinn araon go brách. = May God protect us both forever. Go gcumhdaí Dia sinn go brách. = May God protect us forever. Take your pick. Ádh mór. |
