gra - rhymes with 'car' when pronounced by a British person dilseacht - DILL - shackt (this 'ck' is actually pronounced like German ch in 'Bach') cairdeas - CAR - dess (actually the 'd' is a bit softer, you should stick your tongue to the palate) This should help you a bit, though the best thing would be for you to hear a native speaker pronounce it. |

Wouldn't it be a lot simpler, Dave, to say that it's pronounced "Graw", instead of saying that it rhymes with the word "car" when pronouced by a British person?!Sounds like the sort of explanation the Marx Brothers would give! |
