sult a bhaint as do chuid = to enjoy your meal (or more generally: to enjoy you portion)

They don't really fit together, in Irish any more than in English.

Dennis, Thanks for the information. The phrase appeared in a geneaology forum, without a translation, obviously. (The sender is from the U.K. I expected it to mean something!)
