Dia Dhuit,
I was wondering if you could post the rules for plurals as Gaeilge as I can't seem to find them in any grammar books.
Thanks in advance,
Colm Ó Dúill, Co.Chorcaí

Is é an seanchas gearr an seanchas is fearr. I mbeagán focal mar sin :

Consan caol mar iolra, is lagiolra é. (leabhair < r-caol)
An consan -a mar iolra, is lagiolra é. (leabharlanna < + a)

Tréaniolra is ea gach iolra eile de chuid na Gaeilge.

Ciallaíonn tréaniolra gurb 'in í an fhoirm iolra a bheas
ag an ainmfhocal sin i ngach tuiseal. (Nua-Ghaeilge)

A mhalairt scéil is ea a bhíos ag ceann na laige.
Ní thig le hainmfhocal a bhfuil lagiolra aige a chruth
céanna iolra a choinneáil i ngach tuiseal. Bíonn an t-iolra sin lag lúbach. Ní thig leis féachaint na dtuiseal a sheasamh. Glacfaidh sé cruth nach cruth iolra é, chuige féin, nuair a bhíos an ginideach i gceist :
Líon na leabhar = the amount of books
Líon na leabharlann = the number/amount of libraries.

Ná buair do cheann leis na heisceachtaí, nach eisceachtaí i ndáiríre iad.

Go n-éirí an Ghaeilg agus an ghramadach leat!
