Also, can you suggest an Irish/Gaelic one-or-two-word endearment suitable for inscribing on the gravestone of a much loved, departed mother?

Lynch < Ó Loingsigh = Descendant of Loingseach, which means "seafarer, exile", from "long", which means "ship".

Ó Loingsigh is the form for a man, though - if it's your married name, then you would call yourself Marguerite Uí Loingsigh. Your daughter would be X Ní Loingsigh and your son, again, X Ó Loingsigh.

Interpretation/pronunciation/phrases urgently required.
