There is a website at www.hylit.com that will give you the translation, meaning, and in some cases, pronunciation of names in Irish.

According to this site the Irish for Bartholomew is "Parthalán." It means Ploughman.

I hope this is of some help to you. I am sure there are some learned scholars out there that can give you a better answer!
