I live in the U.S. and am interested in finding a summer program (for 2000) that offers language instruction in Irish and/or Scottish gaelic, preferably in Ireland or Scotland. I would need a program designed for complete beginners, and one that offers undergraduate or graduate college credit. Ideally, I would like to find a program at an institution that also offers study in studio art--landscape painting. My hope is to learn the language and take painting classes. Though I specified a summer program, I may be able to spend a semester or two pursuing these studies,
depending on the cost.

I am not currently enrolled in college, though I hold a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. I have been taking language classes (in Spanish and French) since I graduated. I love to learn languages and would find study abroad in Ireland or Scotland exciting and challenging.

If you have any advice for me with regard to international programs for college credit, I would very much appreciate your input.
