Hello,
I know this is going to sound stupid,but my sister and her beloved are getting married in a few months.We are from Irish backgrounds so they thought it would be nice to have a couple of words inscribed in their rings,in Gaelic.These two little words are FAITH and ETERNAL.
The language has since been lost to our current family.So I have been just about everywhere I can think of to find the Gaelic translations,but no luck.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by FAITH? Faith in each other?
Then I would suggest "iontaoibh" or "muinín".
Faith in God is "creideamh"
ETERNAL is tricky, I would go for "gan teorainn"
The question is eternal what? If you want to express that they will remain together forever then I would use the phrase "go deo"
It's hard to find adequate translations for two words without much conText |

"Síoraí" might be better as a translation for "Eternal." It's the one usually used in the conText of eternal life etc.
Are you looking for the two words separately or the phrase, "Eternal Faith?" |

What would ETERNAL FAITH translate to???
And I suppose Eternal could refer to eternal love. |

I think "Dílseacht" might be a good translation for faith in this conText - faith, loyalty and fidelity are all understood by this word.
Iontaoibh and muinín are faith in the sense of trust, generally mutual.
"Síordhílseacht" would be "Eternal faith."
"Dílis go deo" would be "Faithful forever."
"Síorghrá," "Grá síoraí" and "Grá go deo" all mean Eternal Love. or Love forever. |

'Joe go deo!' has even better ring, at least to my ears. Is cuimhin liom an slua sa halla i Jamison á aithris arís agus arís eile. Now as to wich one my sister picks is still to be seen.
